In order to comply with new environmental regulations, adding grass to a small area on the edge of a car park is no longer sufficient. A car park is more than just a question of paving and design. A permeable car park also contributes significantly to water management. Permeable soil in a car park helps filter and infiltrate rainwater deep into the soil. There is zero runoff and the risk of flooding and contamination of water tables and streams is reduced, or even eliminated. The benefits are many. In addition, a permeable surface can provide resistance to heavy weather events, while a conventional concrete mix does not.
